Firms Mull Relocating Analysis and Research

RESEARCH AND COMMENTARY

US banks are planning to move some of their financial analysis and research functions offshore to India and China to take advantage of the lower labor costs, says a study released this month by the financial services practice of global management firm A.T. Kearney.

The study projects that more than 500,000 jobs at financial services firms will be shifted offshore over the next five years, equal to eight percent of the workforce in the banking and brokerage sector.
