Merrill Lynch Looking To Renegotiate Global Contract With Reuters

NEW YORK--Amidst uncertainty in the organization of its global market data group, Merrill Lynch is reportedly evaluating its global agreement with Reuters for its data and other services.

Sources both within the company and in a vendor firm believe that Merrill is looking to reduce its contract with Reuters from the current five-year term. One source suggests that Merrill is aiming for a one-year term. The idea behind this, say these sources, is to enable Merrill to be more flexible in its choice
