Solarflare Preps NIC-FPGA Hybrid for Faster Data Processing

Irvine, Calif.-based network acceleration technology vendor Solarflare will this week unveil its ApplicationOnload Engine (AOE), which combines a 10 Gigabit Ethernet network interface controller (NIC) with an FPGA processor to allow large banks and exchanges to accelerate market data applications by locating them closer to the data network itself.
