Markit Preps Alternative to Bloomberg IM Network
Data vendor Markit is attempting to create a new open messaging network that will allow financial professionals to communicate and share information across multiple communication platforms, ostensibly to rival Bloomberg's messaging network, Instant Bloomberg, which is an exclusive component of the vendor's Professional terminal.
The initiative, dubbed Markit Collaboration Services or Open Federated Chat, combines a phone book of validated identity data dubbed Markit Directory, a "switchboard"
