GLEIF CEO: LEI Registrations Will Hit Target By 2020

MiFIR compliance will spur continued growth of registrations

The long-term goal of 1.5 million legal entity identifier (LEI) registrations, which experts in the field have said should be the eventual reach of the LEI standard, can be achieved by 2020, says Stephan Wolf, CEO of the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF).

"With the first success of the 450,000 LEIs that we have today, the appetite is growing to do more," says Wolf. "We believe we're making good headway into 2018 and 2020, to significantly increase the population based on that
