As recently as May, a panel of experts at a Futures Industry Association (FIA) conference in New York pegged the number of swap execution facilities (SEFs) in the early going at 30 to 40. In September, consultant GreySpark conducted a SEF survey in which it interviewed 50 entities that gave themselves that title.
