Quotron Systems Inc. is actively pursuing a relationship with financially troubled Aria International, sources say. Aria, developer of a highly-touted Macintosh-based trading system, laid off most of its employees earlier this year, when its financial backing proved inadequate. Aria's system was adopted and refurbished by Hambrecht & Quist Inc., its first customer. H&Q's version, called Phoenix, has been successfully installed in San Francisco and New York. Quotron declined to comment.
