"It's an unavoidable evolution in the market," says Mickael Rouillere, CTO of multi-asset order management system (OMS) provider Quod Financial. He participated in a roundtable sponsored by industry research firm Tabb Group and Quod Financial.

The trend, however, is being driven by the buy side, Rouillere says. "Sell-side firms should provide what their clients require; it will increase their market share as they will be offering a larger portfolio of products," he adds.
