Terra Futuros Takes Orc Spreaders for Arbitrage

São Paulo-based broker Terra Futuros plans to increase its futures arbitrage business between BM&FBovespa and other global exchanges with the implementation of the hosted Orc Spreader from Orc Software.

"After using Orc for some time, we have noticed significant improvement in the speed of our arbitrage and spread strategies," says Francis Palmgren, a managing director at Terra Futuros.

The broker will use the new platform, which is based on the multi-threaded, server-based Orc Liquidator algorithmic trading engine, for commodities arbitrages opportunities on the local Brazilian exchange and other US- and European-based exchanges initially, according to officials.
