LMAX Exchange, a multilateral trading facility for spot foreign exchange (FX) trades, has chosen Equinix's London LD4/5 data center in Slough as the hub for its operations.
The LD4/5 campus will provide LMAX Exchange's clients with low latency connectivity between London and New York─65.7ms for the round trip. LMAX offers an average matching speed of 3ms in more than 60 FX pairs.
"We moved to Equinix because they are well placed to provide us with more than just data center services," says Andrew Phillips, head of systems at LMAX Exchange. "There is a significant amount of FX activity taking place on Platform Equinix, not just in Slough, but worldwide. Locating our matching engine in one of the key centers of this community puts LMAX Exchange at the client's fingertips."
