The new program is set to be backed by a dedicated support team of about a dozen, and includes a virtual 'sandbox' for testing. APP comes after earlier applications were developed for internal tools like Microsoft Lync, mobile apps for both iOS and Android, and other customer relationship management (CRM) functions.

Mihir Parikh, a senior product manager with IPC, says several higher-level engagements have also been secured with EMS and OMS providers, which will use APP to directly embed the variety of electronic and voice communication tools they already use from IPC into future software development, including those conveying market data and speech analytics.

As part of the program, IPC will also provide marketing support to APP developers to speed finished offerings' time to market.
