DTCC Appoints Experian’s Scharf as Chief Security Officer
Current CISO Mark Clancy to resume CEO role at DTCC-FS-ISAC joint-venture, Soltra.
Scharf will have responsibility for centralizing and aligning DTCC's global information security, physical security, and crisis and incident management functions, in what the firm calls a "holistic approach to risk management and resilience across the organization." Prior to his role at Experian, Scharf was global security officer at Bloomberg.
"Stephen brings to DTCC over twenty years of experience, with a fifteen year concentration on information security," says Andrew Gray, managing director, group chief risk officer at DTCC. "Risk management remains a top priority across the industry, and we look forward to Stephen's contributions as we continue to protect DTCC and the global markets."
As a result of Scharf's appointment, current DTCC chief information security officer, Mark Clancy, will step down and assume his full-time role as chief executive officer at DTCC and FS-ISAC joint venture, Soltra.
"Financial services remains one of the most heavily targeted industries," says Scharf on his appointment. "To continue safeguarding our industry from threats, we must remain vigilant and focused."
