Is FTEN For Real?

It seems that the industry has been talking abut real-time, pre-trade risk management for quite some time now, but when you scratch below the surface of vendors' "real-time" claims, it seems that real-time means near-time or even intra-day—which pretty much means post-trade—which, if you're a high-frequency shop, isn't much help at all.
