Waters Rankings 2014: Best Corporate Actions Solution Provider — Thomson Reuters
On the personnel side, a team of more than 200 market analysts working through six global centers sources and maintains the data.
Thomson Reuters’ content covers ISO and non-ISO events and extensive historical corporate actions data. Content includes shares on issue, earnings, dividends, capital changes, IPOs, follow-on offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. Its tagging system provides a consistent, linked view of securities and how they roll up into their legal entities.
Data can be integrated in a number of ways, through a variety of packages and platforms. Information can be deployed through a choice of customizable web interfaces and formats including FTP, CSV, XML and ISO 1502. Intra-day corporate actions are available using quote or issue-based instrument lists as well as filecode-based extractions, while implementation options for DataScope platforms include both deployed and hosted—browser-based, file transfer protocol (FTP), or web service application programming interface (API).
“Corporate actions are becoming ever more critically important within the capital markets, with accuracy, depth of coverage and timeliness being the driving factors behind our strategy in supporting and scaling our Corax capabilities,” says global head of asset servicing Stuart Martin. “We have focused on broadening both our content coverage and event notification timeliness over the last year to ensure we offer custodians and fund administrators the very best opportunities to make effective and informed decisions for both portfolio administration and fund management decision support.”
