It goes without saying that the world changed on September 11, 2001. I am not, however, referring to the spectre of global terrorism and the ensuing feelings of paranoia and xenophobia precipitated by the WTC attacks. I am referring to the way the business world changed during that time, although it would be naive to assume that the September 11 attacks triggered an immediate cooling of the global economy. That was already well under way with the spectacular anti-climax that was Y2K and later
