Bank of America Eyes Costs of Reg NMS


Bank of America has been forced to significantly upgrade its data infrastructure over the past year to accommodate the increases in data volumes that are expected as a result of the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Regulation National Market System.

BofA had already expanded its bandwidth for Nasdaq’s TotalView datafeed from two to six megabits per second over the last year because of general increases in volume, says Rob Flatley, head of direct market access at the bank. Since then,
