Reuters Shifts P&L Power Home to London

LONDON--In a widely anticipated corporate restructuring, Reuters has taken the teeth out of its geographical regions and placed specific profit-and-loss responsibility with two new operating divisions, which now form the core of its business outside of Instinet.

The reorganization, which takes effect Jan. 1, shifts "primary responsibility for long-term financial performance" to the two new operating divisions and away from the regions, according to an internal announcement of the reshuffle.
