In a show of Canadian unity, the Alberta, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver Stock Exchanges have decided to make the move to decimal pricing over the first weekend of April 1996. The simultaneous cutover, which is being called a "big bang" by the exchanges, was requested by the exchanges' member firms. Separately, the Canadian Exchange Group has upgraded its Canadian Consolidated Data Feed (CCDF), which delivers data from the exchanges to market data vendors, to 19.2 kilobits/second from 9.6.
