S&P Unveils Testing Tool

Standard & Poor's will this week unveil a new tool for investment firms to back-test trading strategies against its Compustat historical database.

S&P Backtester is delivered as a module of the vendor's Research Insight analysis platform for traditional asset managers and hedge funds, which mines historical data from S&P's Compustat database, says JP Tremblay, senior director of product development at S&P.
