Thomson Should Avoid FSA Fallout

ORGANIZATION AND STRATEGY

Thomson Financial will not suffer the same negative impact that Reuters and Bloomberg could sustain under the Financial Services Authority’s(FSA) proposed ban on soft commissions and bundling fees, says Glenn Bedwin, director of product and strategy in Thomson Financial's investment and strategy group.

The FSA's proposal is based on the Myners report, which the UK Treasury commissioned two years ago to examine possible distortions in institutional investment decision-making (IMD, April 14).
