CBSX Initiatives Cut Latency

The CBOE Stock Exchange, the equity market of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, has slashed its data distribution and order processing latency by more than 20 milliseconds, as a result of a series of efforts to reduce latency for most participants in the CBSX market.

Chief among the changes is the recently-announced move of CBSX’s matching engine from Chicago to Equinix’s NY4 datacenter in Secaucus, NJ, which was completed on Friday, July 1 after a six-month planning and migration process.
