The second half of 2004 was dominated by a single story: Reuters' negotiations for Telerate. This story, which Inside Market Data broke during the summer, now appears to be coming to a close. Several well placed sources tell us that a deal will be announced before Christmas and possibly today, Monday, Dec. 20 (but after our press deadline).
Of course, this is really just the first chapter. Once the deal is announced, a fresh round of speculation will begin, starting with the fate of Telerate'
