Facing Up To Fatca
Data officers at financial institutions around the world are eagerly awaiting more details about the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (Fatca)—US regulations aimed at combating tax evasion by US persons with offshore accounts. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) did not publish the draft Fatca regulations before December 31, as planned. It did not respond to queries from Inside Reference Data about the draft regulations, but it is understood they will be made available by the end of January
