The application is mobile device management (MDM) compatible, a requirement for any application that hopes to be a part of a firm's bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policy.

According to the release, messages are encrypted on the user's phone, while on the move and when at resting servers. Touch ID or PIN Code have also been added to provide an addition layer of security beyond what comes standard on the iPhone. The desktop version of Symphony will also sync to the mobile app in real time.

WatersTechnology US editor Anthony Malakian profiled Symphony's impact on the messaging space August 2015.
