Globex Host May Be Upgraded Prior To Launch; Delay Possible

THIS WEEK'S LEAD STORIES

Executives at Globex -- the futures-trading system under development by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and Reuters Holdings PLC -- are discussing the need to upgrade the proposed system's host computer before its launch. If the partners decide to implement a new host system ahead of its launch, sources close to the project say, Globex's startup date could slip toward the second quarter of next year.
