Instinet Extends Nighthawk Algo to Japan

Instinet has launched its Nighthawk VWAP crossing aggregation algorithm in the Japanese market.

Instinet's initial dark-pool foray into the Japanese market was marked by the launch of its JapanCrossing crossing network back in 2001, an alternative trading system (ATS) that anonymously matches asset manager's buy and sell orders electronically, without leaking information to the market which it would do if those orders were routed to exchanges.
