Tervela first began working with Volante a year ago to provide feed handlers, though it soon became clear that Volante's technology could be used more broadly to model and integrate any data source with the ODF, says Tervela founder and chief executive Barry Thompson.

He says the integration reduces the amount of risk inherent in changing components of an infrastructure-from feed handlers to middleware platforms-or combining best-of-breed components from different vendors.
