Firms: Business as Usual as Snow Snarls U.K.

Approximately 45 percent of Saxo Bank staff came to work in the London office on Monday, according to Stuart Rice, head of U.K. and U.S. marketing at the bank. Trading volumes were down by 10.6 percent compared to Friday, Jan. 30, "which is not alarming," Rice says.

At UBS, around 45 percent of workers made it in. "Business ran smoothly as the people who were unable to make it were able to work from home if necessary," a spokesperson says.
