Wall Street Firms Back Boston Exchange

BOSTON—Rumors that the Boston Stock Exchange (BSE) was entering into a deal with Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), Fidelity Brokerage Co., Citigroup and Lehman Brothers were confirmed last week when the BSE announced a joint venture with the equity partners to launch the Boston Equities Exchange (BeX).

BeX services will be deployed in a series of phases over the next 12 to 15 months, with the first phase to be completed in early 2006, says the BSE, which will act as a self-regulatory
