JPM, Lehman Embrace Kx on Linux

PALO ALTO, Calif.--Database vendor Kx Systems this week will be debuting Kdb+, a 64-bit version of its flagship platform, in response to users’ demands for an upgrade that will run in high-capacity hardware architectures.

In conjunction, Kx later this month will debut a Linux port, also in response to users--most notably JP Morgan and Lehman Brothers--that want open source options.

The majority of users want Kx’s offerings available for Linux and Intel Itanium 2 environments, says Kx CEO Janet
