Best enterprise data management provider/vendor—Rimes
Overview—Intelligence Fabric for Capital Markets
Rimes provides Intelligence Fabric for Capital Markets: a data network and intelligence architecture designed to transform fragmented data, operations and workflows into decision-grade intelligence. Institutional investors, asset managers and service providers rely on Rimes to help them make better investment decisions that power more than $75 trillion in assets under management annually.
Secret sauce
Unlike software-only vendors, Rimes operates the infrastructure that underpins institutional investing―5.5 million daily validation checks, more than 850 data partners and over 25 years of curated time-series data on a single, governed, artificial intelligence-ready foundation. This breadth and depth allows clients to deploy AI, confident that every workflow, model and decision can be traced, explained and defended.
There is a line every investment firm is approaching: where AI moves from advising decisions to acting on them. The firms that lead will be the ones with the data to cross it by design, not by default. The Intelligence Fabric is built for that moment, and WatersTechnology’s recognition affirms we’re solving the right problem at the right time.

Recent milestones
Rimes recently launched a Total Portfolio View on an extensible data model that allows clients to see across public and private investments, managers and structures in one connected view—an increasingly important requirement for buy-side firms. The addition of look-through exposure analysis provides faster insight into fund-of-fund and multi-manager structures, and enables cleaner asset allocation, liquidity planning and rebalancing decisions.
Future objectives
Rimes will scale the Intelligence Fabric on Databricks to deepen platform-agnostic delivery into client analytics and AI environments. Agentic AI workflows will be expanded across the investment life cycle, with governance, lineage and explainability built in. Beyond being a vendor, Rimes will further strengthen its role as an operator running the data foundation behind clients’ most critical workflows.
As a quantitative asset manager, decision-grade data is at the core of everything we do. We have invested heavily in data quality and governance, and are taking the next step by expanding our data management capabilities. Rimes brings strong domain expertise and a platform that fits well into our architecture, making our foundation even stronger to support the quality and precision our clients expect.

Why Rimes won
Rimes has been winning categories in these and other WatersTechnology awards campaigns for the best part of two decades, and this year’s success in the Best enterprise data management provider/vendor category, one of the most competitive on offer, illustrates why. The London- and New York-based buy-side data specialist clearly has its finger on the pulse of the industry and is addressing real, day-to-day challenges for its substantial buy-side clientele. The firm’s Intelligence Fabric for Capital Markets is a case in point: the data network and intelligence architecture are designed to remediate firms’ fragmented data, operations and workflow issues. Rimes’ proposition goes beyond that of a conventional software/data vendor. It operates the infrastructure underpinning its clients’ workflows, carrying out 5.5 million validation checks every day, connecting more than 850 data partners. Combined with more than 25 years of curated time-series data, this provides clients with a foundation through which data can be traced, explained and governed as AI becomes increasingly embedded within investment processes across the buy side.
A recent addition to the platform is the availability of Total Portfolio View, built on an extensible data model that connects public and private investments, managers and structures in a single view. Look-through exposure analysis adds further depth for users, helping them assess fund-of-fund and multi-manager structures, and make more informed decisions around asset allocation, liquidity and rebalancing—all of which are critical buy-side functions. With plans to scale the Intelligence Fabric on Databricks and expand agentic AI workflows across the investment life cycle, Rimes is positioning itself not simply as a data management system/provider, but as the operational foundation perfectly suited to support increasingly automated investment workflows.
