According to Michael Zerbs, Algorithmics' president and COO, the buy side has grown significantly in terms of importance to the vendor, which, when it was established in 1989, focused exclusively on the sell side.
"Buy-side organisations are moving from seeing risk as a compliance function to taking more of an integrated view on risk and return," he explains. "That has driven a need to be much more accurate and detailed on the analytics side."
