Penny Davenport leaves Markit

London-based Penny Davenport, who used to be head of Markit Document Exchange (MDE), has left the company, and New York-based Lansing Gatrell and Yasmeen Jaffer, both directors at Markit, are now managing MDE, a utility for documents required for know-your-customer compliance. Gatrell and Jaffer joined Markit in 2007, and have been working on MDE since 2008 and 2007 respectively. Prior to MDE, Lansing worked on the trade reporting platform Markit Boat.

Meanwhile, Davenport has been with Markit for more than seven years, and was originally hired as a director in 2003, joining from Lombard Risk Systems. She was initially responsible for the development of the reference entity database, RED, a standard for trade matching and settlement in the credit derivatives markets, and prior to MDE, she was managing director and head of Markit RED. Davenport also has many years' experience from JPMorgan in London and New York.
