Dun & Bradstreet Corp.'s proposed sale of its Interactive Data Corp. and Datastream International Ltd. subsidiaries signals the abandonment of D&B's foray into financial information services and related analytical products. D&B announced its divestiture plans March 5.

The decision to sell IDC comes just two years after D&B acquired the company from Chase Manhattan Corp. for $140 million. D&B bought Datastream in 1982 for $102 million. D&B says the companies had combined revenue of $155 millio
