Central Client Data Clean-Up Pays Off for Citi

LONDON - Citi has improved business entity data sharing across units with a centralized system for cleansing client data aimed at achieving regulatory compliance, said officials at The Forum conference in London in April.

The project, initially driven by the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), has involved cleansing client data and classifying clients in preparation for MiFID. The central system has helped the firm share data and save time on the classification process.
