Birgel Lands Business Development Role at BI-SAM

Olivier Birgel has joined Paris-based BI-SAM

BI-SAM, the Paris-based provider of buy-side-centric applications and services, has appointed Olivier Birgel as business development director for Europe.

Birgel, with 15 years' experience in the asset management industry, has been responsible for development roles across Europe and North Africa. He started his career in Luxembourg in the sales and portfolio management departments of Fidelity Investments and Banque de Luxembourg, before moving to France where he has been based since 2003. He has held a number of positions at Dexia Asset Management, Reuters, and, most recently, Standard & Poor's.

BI-SAM's B-One offering, a data management, performance and risk attribution, GIPS-composites administration, and client reporting platform, has won the best performance measurement and attribution category in the Buy-Side Technology Awards for the past three years (2008, 2009 and 2010).
