Global telecom provider BT has promoted Tom Regent to president of the vendor’s global banking and financial markets unit, which supports networked-based services—from ATM network support for retail banking institutions to trading infrastructure for the wholesale capital markets.

Regent, who joined BT in 2010 as its president of global sales and marketing, replaces Andy Nicholson, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities, according to officials. In his new role, Regent will report directly to Jeff Kelly, CEO of BT global services.
