The contract of Singapore Exchange (SGX) CEO Magnus Böcker has been renewed through June 30, 2015. The original contract for Böcker, who joined SGX in 2009, was for three years.

The board of directors credited Böcker and his management team with several accomplishments, including raising SGX's profile and expanding its suite of offerings.

"Given that the tensions and anxieties that have weakened global financial markets are likely to persist for some time yet, we are appreciative that Magnus has signed on for another term in office," says Chew Choon Seng, chairman of SGX. "He will provide known leadership for the SGX organization in the uncertain times ahead."
