Turquoise Hires Barnes for CEO Role

Barnes will take up the role over the next few weeks, given regulatory approval.

Barnes, who left the UBS-operated dark pool earlier this year, will take up the post after regulatory approval from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). He replaces Natan Tiefenbrun.

As well as UBS MTF's top spot, Barnes has previously held the post of managing director, equities at UBS, and was the chairman of the Securities Trading Committee of the London Investment Banking Association from 2004-2009. He holds a PhD from Cambridge University and a BA from Harvard University.
