Koppitz to Lead BT's German, Austrian Business

Former head of Nfon joins UK IT and telecommunications firm.

Munich
Koppitz will lead BT's business in Germany and Austria.

Koppitz, who previously served as CEO of Nfon, a cloud-based IP telephony solutions provider, took over for Nina Wegner on March 1. Wegner will serve as vice president of strategic transformation in Europe for BT Global Services, but will still stay on the board of BT Germany.

BT has approximately 1,000 clients in Germany and Austria. In Germany, the firm runs metropolitan-area networks in four cities and operates three data centers.

"During my time at Nfon, I worked closely with BT as one of our network partners, and I know BT's network capabilities and the expertise of its teams are second to none," said Koppitz in a statement. "I am particularly thrilled to help further strengthen its position in areas such as cloud-based communication services, security and collaboration."
