AlphaDesk Names Kevin Galliers as COO

Galliers joins from SunGard. He says the firm will be making some changes "in the coming weeks."

AlphaDesk is based out of Toronto, with offices additionally in New York, London and Singapore.

AlphaDesk offers a cloud-based solution geared toward the buy side, specifically for real-time order, portfolio and operations management.

Galliers was previously with SunGard, which was acquired by FIS last year. He served there during two stints: 1998-2000 and 2004-February 2016. Most recently he was a senior vice president responsible for growth, market entry, and leadership development.

"[Galliers] has a deep understanding of clients' financial technology needs, acquired through decades of experience working for successful software vendors," said AlphaDesk CEO, Dan Rissin, in a statement. "With Kevin's appointment we now have the international expertise to transform AlphaDesk into a truly global operation."

In a statement, Galliers said that more announcements will be coming soon.

"Over the coming weeks we will be firming up our plans and making further announcements about how we will support our growing international customer-base, how we work with industry partners and how we will take a leadership position in setting a vision, as a service provider, for the industry," he said.
