He will have a focus on technology, software and information services. Nadler joins from Interactive Data Corp (IDC), where he was chief operating officer. Warburg Pincus, along with Silver Lake Partners, bought IDC in July 2010 for $3.4 billion. The company was then sold in 2015 to the Intercontinental Exchange for $5.3 billion.

Nadler has also served stints at SNL Financial, MLM Information Services and Thomson Financial, where he worked in various roles from 1988-2000.

"We have known Jay for over 15 years and are pleased to welcome him as an executive-in-residence," said Chandler Joel Reedy, managing director at Warburg Pincus, in a statement. "Jay will be a valuable asset to the firm in the increasingly important areas of information services, software and technology-enabled services."
