Blake Grossman Joins Axioma's Board of Directors
Barclays Global Investors’ ex-CEO has been elected as a member of Axioma’s board of directors.
In a statement, Grossman compared Axioma’s vision to Barclays Global Investors’ development strategy, saying he sees many similarities between the two companies.
“The development of Barclays Global Investors as the leading systematically based investment firm was achieved by a front-to-back integration of investment systems, along with extensive application of technology, to drive scale and substantial growth in AUM,” he said. “I see the same vision at Axioma, which is redefining the landscape with flexible, enterprise-wide risk and equity solutions that give investment firms that same systematic capabilities to grow and scale, but at a fraction of the cost. I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a part of it.”
Grossman served seven years in the position of CEO at the investment management subsidiary of Barclays before it was sold to BlackRock in 2009. He was then promoted by BlackRock and held the vice chairman position.
He is currently chairman of the board of the investment consulting firm Financial Engines, as well as a managing member of CHJ Capital and Thirdstream Partners. Both are fund management firms based in San Francisco, Calif.
