Best enterprise data management provider/vendor—FINBOURNE Technology

Product overview—EDM+
FINBOURNE Technology was founded in order to reduce the structural cost of investing while increasing operational transparency and efficiency for the investment management industry. Its primary offerings are:
- EDM+, a cloud-native, enterprise data management platform designed to go beyond legacy constraints to enable real-time ingestion, transformation and unification of investment data, regardless of provider, format or type
- Luminesce, the firm’s data virtualization layer, which distributes data from any source (including EDM+), delivering a real-time source of truth that users and systems can query and update.
Secret sauce
FINBOURNE’s key differentiators include:
- Extensible data model—a client-defined structure that allows flexibility and adaptability
- Bitemporality—capturing data in context and sequence
- Immutability—data is appended, not overwritten, showing every change to it
- Application programming interface (API)-led design—more than 700 APIs integrate with financial and non‑financial systems
- Workflow service—users define and control all data movements
- Data virtualization—Luminesce delivers a real-time data layer so queries are made on up-to-date data, and changes reflect when published.
Winning the Best enterprise data management provider/vendor category is a significant milestone for FINBOURNE, validating our work to build a next-generation enterprise data management solution that enables investment managers to optimize investment and operational performance while reducing the structural cost of investing. It’s validation of our solution as we continue to expand worldwide. It reinforces the trust our clients place in us and fuels our momentum as we innovate and grow.

Why FINBOURNE Technology won
By winning the Best enterprise data management provider/vendor category—without doubt, one of the most competitive of all the 33 categories on offer—FINBOURNE has shown itself to be right up there with the largest, best established and most successful players in the data management market. The London-based firm’s success is down to its outstanding EDM+ platform, which ticks pretty much all the boxes capital markets firms would want when it comes to managing large volumes of complex data across multiple formats and increasing numbers of sources. EDM+ is cloud-native and designed to support real-time ingestion, transformation and unification of investment data, regardless of provider, format or type. That might not sound especially challenging but, as large numbers of capital markets firms on both sides of the industry would attest, it is fiendishly difficult to pull off. This is FINBOURNE’s first win in this category, although who would bet against the company making the winners’ circle in the IMD & IRD Awards again next year?
