For as long as Buy-Side Technology has covered the emergence and expansion of dark pools on both sides of the Atlantic, consolidation seemed an eventual given. But as 2009 begins to wind down, the expected consolidation among dark pool operators has yet to occur - and won't at any substantial rate in the near future. Diversity in terms of the types of liquidity different pools attract, the relatively low cost of keeping them running, and the advent of aggregation technologies and services
