Reuters Augments So-So Results With Ambitious Plans


Given the downturn in the business climate, it comes as no surprise that Reuters' revenue growth rate -- released late last month -- has dropped. The question had not been "Would it drop?" but instead was "By how much?" Now the results are in: The company posted a 22 percent increase in revenues for the quarter; the jump follows 25 percent increases in the previous two quarters. What's more, excluding revenue from acquisitions, growth in the first quarter was 16 percent. Currency fluctuations
