Telerate Earnings Hit Hard By TTS, North American "Retrenchment"


Dow Jones & Co. Inc.'s financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 1990, show a mature publishing company hit hard by the earnings decline of its electronic services operations, including Telerate Inc.

Dow Jones completed its acquisition of Telerate as the high-flying market data vendor continued its new product development campaign. The second-generation product line, which includes a transactional service for interbank foreign exchange trading (TTS), has been slow to catch on.
