Clearinghouses Address Regulatory Concerns

"We have reviewed interoperability in the last few months, when the regulators put on hold the actual interoperability relationship. We have progressed," says Andrew Simpson, head of product management with EuroCCP. "The current interoperable relationships, which were in place for LCH.Clearnet and SIX x-clear, were bilateral and didn't amount to true competitive interoperability. They were put in place for convenience because of one or two banks."
