BGC Partners Acquires Canadian Brokerage Perimeter Markets
The Toronto-based broker grows BGC's presence in Canada and strengthens its electronic offering.
Details around the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is still pending legal and regulatory approval.
"This transaction will enhance BGC's electronic offering and increase its footprint in the Canadian marketplace," said Shaun Lynn, president of BGC Partners, in a statement.
Perimeter Markets operates two trading platforms: CBID and CBID Institutional. The former is a multi-dealer fixed income marketplace, while the latter is an anonymous, live, order-driven fixed income marketplace.
