Heeding the Call of Open Outcry

The march toward electronification continues unabated. In July, Spanish exchange Bolsas y Mercados Españoles moved the last 42 stocks still being floor-traded onto an electronic system, while BM&F Bovespa in São Paulo ended 20 years of derivatives pit trading the previous month. Even the Iraq Stock Exchange held its first ever day of electronic trading back in April.
